Hernando County Florida has been referred to as the Gateway to the Naturecoast of Florida. I would have to agree with that statement. I have called Hernando County home for over ten years, and have enjoyed every moment. It's location in West Central Florida allows convenient access to the majority of Florida’s attractions, Disney, Universal and Busch Gardens are all an easy drive away. The Gulf of Mexico forms the western border of the county with Hernando Beach as our most popular waterfront community.

The Gulf of Mexico allows Hernando County residents to enjoy a day one the water fishing, diving, snorkeling or simply relaxing. Boating is very popular and many boat ramps are available for public use. Rental boats are also available as well as charters.

The Home of the Mermaids, Weeki Wachee is Hernando Counties oldest claim to fame, many celebrities have graced the county with a visit to this oldest of roadside attractions, a touch of the old to accent the new that is the New Hernando County.

The Suncoast Expressway allows for a very easy commute to Tampa and the surrounding areas. We find that many of our new residents are coming from the Tampa Bay area, so many in fact, that Hernando has been referred to as “New” Tampa. We welcome the compliment!

Hernando Counties growth over the past few years has been fast. This is being viewed as a great benefit, as new state of the art schools are being built, new roads are being created, and the workforce is being fortified with new talent moving to the area.
